Through the research-based history of UARC & its current focus on professional activities, this center seeks to bridge the dichotomy of theory & action by using a problem-solving process. This goal is pursued through the practicalizing of theoretical knowledge and creating domestic theoretical knowledge from practice. Also, UARC tries to improve the quality of the architecture & urban planning community in its professional & educational activities with a top futuristic view & creativity.

باتوجه به تاریخچه پژوهش‌محور مرکز مطالعات و تحقیقات شهرسازی و معماری ایران و همچنین تمرکز فعلی مرکز بر روی انجام فعالیت‌های تخصصی در حوزه معماری و شهرسازی، این موسسه به دنبال ایجاد پلی میان دوگانگی نظر و عمل از طریق فرایند حل مسئله است. این هدف از طریق عملی کردن دانش نظری و ایجاد دانش نظری بومی (داخلی) از عمل دنبال می‌شود. همچنین مرکز مطالعات و تحقیقات شهرسازی و معماری ایران سعی در سهم داشتن در ارتقای کیفیت جامعه معماری و شهرسازی از طریق به کارگیری نگاهی آینده‌نگر و خلاق در فعالیت‌های تخصصی و آموزشی خود دارد.
